Playing With the Children at Mary’s Place/Sharing and Caring Hands

My church, Living Acts, has an out reach team that provides food and other necessities to those in need.  Each one of us has a different gift that God uses for the purpose of giving to those in need, praying for those who need of prayer, providing food for those in need and lifting up those who are in need of uplifting words and kindness.

We wanted to do something special for the children as well as give the moms some free time to themselves, so on Saturday, July 13, 2019, we spent a few hours at Mary’s Place playing games with the children who were really excited because they could win prizes, and 2 of our members did face painting.

I learned a lot about myself that day because I always thought I wasn’t good with children, so I had some trepidation about how I was going to do, but as it turned out playing with the children came naturally to me.  I was as excited as the children as I helped them to learn new games, and to win prizes, as they were to play the games and win prizes.  It was an exciting and rewarding time for all of us, and the time we spent with the children allowed the moms to take some much needed time for themselves.
